Vegetable Biryani Pulav

Ingredients

  • 250g basmati rice
  • 30–45ml oil
  • 5g ginger paste
  • 2–3 purée tomatoes
  • Chilli powder (to taste)
  • 5g Turmeric powder
  • 20g Shayona Vegetable Biryani Pulav Masala
  • 200g mixed vegetables (half-fried) such as green peas, french beans, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower
  • 25g Butter

Instructions

  • Rinse the basmati rice, boil until cooked, drain and set aside.

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the ginger paste and sauté briefly.

  • Add the tomato purée, chilli powder and turmeric, then cook until the oil begins to separate.

  • Stir in Shayona Biryani Pilau Masala and the half-fried mixed vegetables. Cook gently until combined.

  • Lightly oil another frying pan. Add the cooked basmati rice followed by the vegetable gravy and layer until you run out.

  • Heat on a low flame, add butter to taste and cook for a further 10 to 15 minutes.

Serve

Serve hot with raita and salad.

Cooking Time

Approximately 45-60 minutes, including preparation and cooking. Cooking time may vary with larger quantities.
